1. Core principle
LENIA is designed to increase clarity and autonomy, not to make decisions for a person. The product should help users see alternatives, organize context and reflect more effectively while preserving human agency.
Principles for human agency, safety, privacy, accessibility and responsible AI use.
LENIA is designed to increase clarity and autonomy, not to make decisions for a person. The product should help users see alternatives, organize context and reflect more effectively while preserving human agency.
The design avoids presenting AI as an absolute authority. Responses may be wrong, and the product should not replace qualified professionals in health, psychology, law, finance or emergency situations.
Psychology, Philosophy, Meditation, Spirituality and Faith are used as different perspectives for reflection. LENIA should not turn these Lenses into diagnosis, fixed identity or universal claims of belief.
Features such as memory, voice and camera should have a clear purpose and explicit controls. Camera use is optional and visual context should be ephemeral by default. The product should limit collection and retention to what is needed for the experience and security.
The experience aims for clear language, readable typography, language options and low-friction interfaces. Product evolution should consider different ages, abilities, cultural contexts and access conditions, avoiding exclusion through unnecessary complexity.
Plans may limit usage space and intensive features, but should not create anxiety mechanics, compulsive consumption or false scarcity. Pricing, trial and usage-limit communication should be understandable and verifiable.
Social impact is not a static page. As LENIA grows, safety, quality, accessibility and complaint metrics should guide improvements to the product, documentation and user controls.
